The role
Our booking backend is Kotlin. It searches, prices and books flights for thousands of travelers a day, talking to a dozen supply systems that each fail in their own creative ways. You'll own meaningful parts of it and see your work reach production in days, not quarters.
What you'll do
- Build and run the services behind flight search, booking and post-booking support.
- Design for scale. The platform already processes millions of requests a day and traffic keeps growing.
- Keep the codebase healthy: tests where they matter, honest code review, refactoring when something has aged badly.
- Take features from idea to production and stay responsible for them after they ship.
- Adopt new technology when it solves a real problem, not because it is new.
What we look for
- You have designed, built and operated high-performance backend systems in production.
- You reduce complex problems to simple solutions and can explain your reasoning in plain language.
- You care about code quality and testing without being religious about either.
- You work well in a small senior team: direct, autonomous, no hand-holding.
- Travel industry experience is a bonus. Curiosity about it is expected.
